The 2012 Seattle Seahawks uniforms and logo gets a “makeover”

Hello, Nike!

This offseason the NFL is switching uniform sponsors from Reebok to Nike. In fact, they were just released minutes ago. At a press conference to unveil the new uniforms, Nike had a couple surprises up their sleeves for a couple franchises.

Particularly the Seattle Seahawks.

Carolina’s logo is getting tweaked and that change has been fully leaked already and the surprise taken away. The Seahawks new logo, uniforms, and cleats were kept under wraps as they will see the biggest overhaul in the league.

And from the looks of it, it is quite the overhaul.

The new Seahawks logo featuring the gray panel is in fact the new style logo the team is going with. The helmets are now a deep Navy blue, changing from the Pacific Blue we have all grown to love.

Running down the middle of the helmet is a small design looking like feathers. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be.

The new jerseys are interesting. There are 3 new uniforms with 9 possible combinations on game day. A blue home jersey, white away jersey and a gray alternate jersey.

The word ‘Seahawks’ is right under the left shoulder to be placed near the hearts of those wearing the jerseys.

The shoulders on the jerseys have been revamped with a new design featuring the Nike symbol on each shoulder/sleeve along with a couple small panels.

The pants have a new design down the side, similar to the one on the helmet. I don’t know if they did it in purpose, but there are exactly 12 of these logos running down the sides of the pants. Pretty cool and symbolic.

It is rumored that the pants will feature a 12th man patch as well.

Seahawks players as well as other NFL players have already sounded off after getting a sneak preview informing fans that they’re going to love the new uniforms.
